If you've never used a phone card before, then you're probably wondering how exactly they work. Read on to discover what exactly you need to do to place international calls using a prepaid calling card and how to make dialing easier and faster.
Although it may seem a bit complicated at first, you will soon realize it's actually easier that it looks, and not to mention a lot cheaper than calling directly through your landline or cell phone!
After you select and buy your calling card, you receive an e-mail containing your PIN number and an access number. In order to make your international calls using the low rates provided by your calling plan, you will need to call the access number first. You will hear a voice recording asking you to enter your PIN number. At this point, you must enter the 10-digit PIN provided to you by email. It is advised that you keep your PIN in a safe place, otherwise anyone can use it and make calls using up the credit on your BananaCall card. After you've entered the PIN, you will hear another voice recording asking you to enter the destination number. You will now need to enter the number you want to call - in international format; this means international country code included and / or area code(s) included. Once you've entered the destination phone number in this format, your call will be connected and you'll be able to talk at very low rates!
With any of the BananaCall cards that you pick, you can make this entire process a lost faster and easier, and here's how:
1. Store the access number in your phone agenda. This way, you can just call it as you call any other number instead of having to dial it every single time you want to make an international call.
2. Activate the PINless dialing option on your BananaCall card and you'll no longer be asked to enter the PIN when placing calls. Instead, after calling the access number you'll hear the voice prompt asking you to enter the destination number in international format. Also, please note that you can use PINless dialing on all products available on BananaCall.com.
3. Configure Speed Dial for your calling card and allocate a destination number you call more often to a specific key (let's say key "1"). This way, when asked to enter the destination number you will simply need to dial "*1" and your call will be connected. You can store up to 9 numbers with Speed Dial (for keys 1 to 9) and use this feature offered by BananaCall to dial even faster!
If you combine all these 3 easy tricks above, then here's how simple dialing becomes: you call a number on your cell (the access number), then dial "*1" and you're connected to the destination number! Is this fast or what?
