If you need to place international calls to Kenya using your Banana Call plan, you need to know the dialing instructions and the country and also the area codes for Kenya. Below you will find all these, explained.
To begin with, you will need to know the PIN of your Kenya calling card (this was delivered to you in an e-mail, after purchasing your BananaCall plan). Be sure to have it close at hand when preparing to place your international calls to Kenya.
The first thing you need to dial from your landline or cell phone is the access number. You can use a toll-free access number or a local access number (if you have free national minutes included in your plan). Using a local access number will get you more minutes of actually talk time on your BananaCall phone card. You can get an access number here.
Next, you will hear a voice prompt asking you to enter your PIN number; after entering it, you will hear the voice prompt again, asking you to enter the destination number.
You will need to dial 011 in front of Kenya's country code (254), then the area code and finally the destination number that you wish to call. The number to dial will look like this:
011 + 254 + area code + phone number.
Here are the area codes for cities in Kenya:

If you want to call a Kenya cell phone number, you will need to dial:
011 + 254 + cell phone number.
For more convenience, you can also use BananaCall's special features and enjoy a faster dialing process: using PINless dialing you will no longer need to enter the PIN number every time you use your calling card; the Speed Dial option allows you to save the numbers that you call most often (so instead of dialing 011 + 254 + area code + number you will only dial #4, for example).
With BananaCall, you will be able to enjoy low rates to all destinations in Kenya, and excellent call connection at all times.
