If you're planning on making international calls to Peru, then using a calling card from BananaCall will save you a lot of money. But you must start by...
1. Picking the right calling card.
In order to do this, you'll need to use the search box (available on the top right corner of this page or on the homepage) and select the Calling from and Calling to countries, accordingly. The Calling to will obviously be "Peru". Then just click the "Search for Best Rates" button and you will be presented with the best cards to call Peru, from your location.
Next, in order to determine which of these cards is the best one for your calling needs, you will need to decide if you're going to make short and often calls, or on the other hand: less often but longer phone calls. The idea here is simple: if you're in the first category, you'll need to select a card with a shorter billing increment and no connection fee. If you're in the second category, you will make the most savings by going with a card that has a longer billing increment, and even a small connection fee, as they feature lower rates. More on the topic of billing increment here.
2. Using a Local Access Number.
In order to get maximum savings out of your phone card, you should always use a local access number. This gives you a lower per minute rate than using a toll free access number. You can generate a local access number by entering your phone number here.
3. Dialing a Peru phone number in international format.
When you use your calling card, you'll need to start by dialing the access number. Next, you'll hear a voice prompt asking you to enter the PIN number. After entering it, you'll hear the voice prompt again, asking you to enter the destination number in international format. For Peru, you will need to dial 011 if you call from the United States and then dial 51 (Peru's country code), then the 1-2 digit area code and the 6-7 digit local number of the person you want to call. To be more clear: area code + local phone number must be 8 digits long.
