If you need to make international calls to Mexico, then you're best advised to use a calling plan from BananaCall, as it will save you a bundle on international calls. Rates offered by our plans are significantly lower than those of landline or mobile telephony providers, and you basically get the same quality.
For calling Mexico with BananaCall, you will need to:
1. Dial the access number - toll-free or local. If you have free nation-wide calls offered by your landline/cell provider, then you should use the local access numbers provided by BananaCall here so that you get lower rates on your card.
2. Enter your PIN. This is the 10-digit identification number you're given once you purchase your BananaCall plan. It is delivered to you by email and is used as an authentication method for your account on BananaCall. Alternatively, you can activate PINless dialing, and skip this step altogether.
3. Enter the destination number you want to call - in international format. Here's what this means:
The entire sequence to dial would look like this:
Before picking up the phone to call your friends and / or family in Mexico, you might also want to check time zone difference, to make sure you're not calling at an inappropriate hour. Mexico actually spreads along 3 different time zone: Pacific Time, Mountain Time and Central Time. For extensive info on time zone in Mexico, please check this wiki article.
